Lori brings a wealth of knowledge and understanding of yoga to her students, having studied and practiced in the many disciplines of yoga including Hatha, Ashtanga, Anusara, Iyengar, Bikram, Vinyasa, Power and Restorative for over 10 years. She is a certified RYT instructor through the National Yoga Alliance. She continues her education through workshops and retreats.
Her classes are an eclectic mix, integrating proper alignment and grounding with breath awareness for a mind-body-spirit connection. Her classes begin with a practice in pranayama, a chance to explore and learn specific breathing techniques that can calm and center, invigorate and energize or focus and ground the body and mind. Proper warm up sequences where one learns to begin to engage and focus on specific parts of the body by carefully stretching, bending and twisting. Expect to learn postures in correct sequencing so you can safely learn to stretch the muscles and tendons of the body. And finally, ending the practice in savasana, where the body begins to integrate and receive the many health benefits that yoga offers.
Lori believes an open mind creates limitless possibilities for the body. When you leave her class she hopes it is with a lightness in heart and spirit and a stretched and strengthened body!
